"Hi,
This weekend , SAG in a small join "join venture" with other units (marine forces recon ) did a field training MRRP to perform several field tests in advance for upcoming event in January 2009.
1- Night navigation under severe rain and zero moon visibility
2- Battle group test comms and reunion in hostile territory
3- Air strip take over and control
4- Recon and preparation for take over of vilage to recover lost material.
The mission started at 22h00LT ,with heavy rain conditions with full combate group being droped at insertion point aprox 7 Kms of wooden area and first objectiv- A fiel strip that must be secured.
combat group divided in two sections went over fiel strip area and secured the below mentioned at 01h22LT.
After field reunion,refited and prepared for next PO aprox 7 Km away - Recon of small vilage to recoverr and extract weapon back to extraction point.
After intense recon and surveilance ,at 12h00 combat group went over the vilage and in 12mnts found the objectiv and desarmed 2 booby traps.
At 12h30 were at reunion point and ready to go for the extraction point aprox 15 Kms away.
Extraction point pined point at 15h00.Mission acomplished with 01 KIA , 1 MIA and 01 wounded.
The exercice took 17hours and 27,5 kilometers of cross country marches.
